Barry has more than twenty-five years of experience developing successful lead generation, demand generation, and online media businesses. He was ahead of the curve in 1995 when he kicked off his Internet career with the successful sales launch of Bigyellow.com. More recently, and prior to joining Demand Science, he operated business units for IDG, Ziff Davis, and the United Companies.
He also founded and operated many of his own firms, including MarketLynx (merged with the United Companies), Business Media Group (merged with International Data Group), and Connexus Media, which he sold to Ziff Davis. Barry’s extensive background in the technology, B2B, and small business markets gives him a unique perspective from which to shape his vision for Demand Science.
A respected expert and pioneer in demand generation, data driven strategies, and the development of web applications, Melissa has an impressive track record of delivering online innovations and leading successful web application development. She has more than a decade of in-the-trenches experience in the industry, including executive leadership positions at Ziff Davis, Connexus Media, and IDG.
Throughout her career, Melissa has taken an approach that balances team leadership with hands-on execution, a formula that has served her and her extended team well.
Gary began his career as a CPA for Price Waterhouse, and then served in financial leadership positions in the technology industry including senior financial roles at Data General and Wellfleet Communications/Bay Networks. Gary then served as CFO of Sandburst Corporation, and as Vice President of Corporate Development at Moldflow Corporation, where he had the responsibility for corporate development activities including managing the $300 million sale of the company to Autodesk. Gary continued on to serve as the CFO at Fidelis Cybersecurity Systems through its acquisition by General Dynamics, as Senior Vice President and CFO at FirstLight Fiber and then as Senior Vice President and CFO at Cloud Technology Partners through its 2017 acquisition by Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
As CFO, Gary Kraemer oversees a wide range of strategic and tactical aspects of Demand Science Group, including finance, planning, legal, human resources, and commercial and operational support. In his time outside the office, Gary enjoys spending time with his family. He is an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoys snowboarding, hiking and gardening. Gary holds a Master of Business Administration from Rider University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Susquehanna University.
Chris has ten years’ experience in demand generation, and is an expert in growing top-line revenue and getting results from sales teams. He is a master of sales planning and strategy, and has driven the company’s rapid revenue growth. His passion for serving the customer and his talent for innovative product development has led to new solutions that solve complex problems for clients. Chris worked previously for other early stage, rapid growth companies in the demand generation space, including eMedia and Spiceworks. He has a BA from Purdue University.
Rich has spent the past 20 years building successful technology and services businesses, servicing the Fortune 1000 and SMB clientele through cloud/SaaS platforms, digital commerce solutions, and business process transformations. He has served in a wide range of CxO roles for global organizations in industries from digital media to travel and BPM, utilizing a combination of strategic planning and operational excellence. Rich founded and led a B2B emedia and marketing services firm that was acquired by Reed-Elsevier. He has a BS from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an Executive Business Administration from Oxford.
Johanna is a two-decade veteran of the online publishing, B2B demand generation and technology media markets. She has spent her career guiding companies to improve their sales and operational efficiencies and maximizing their results. She has held leadership positions at IDG and Ziff Davis where she reinvigorated operations, improved processes and drove profitability. She has also spent several years as a business consultant and understands how the sales and marketing processes drive the overall health of an organization.
